Tony Morgan 08-11-2016: Work is always top notch.

The service and attention to detail received from Back To Life Cars is exactly what you'd expect from a professional garage.

Karen Owens 08-01-2018: Chris of Back to Life Cars did an amazing job on our Chevrolet Pick up 3100. It had a lot of repair work required and Chris has transformed it, can't wait for the 2018 Summer season now to show it off. Well done and thanks Chris for an amazing job done.

Mike Sessions 20-04-2018: Chris did a service and repaired the power steering on my Corvette Stingray C3, Plus a few other jobs that needed doing. He certainly knows his American cars. Great job Chris. Now to get the engine mounts replaced! I will spread the word!

Andrew Nicholls 27-07-2018: Well I’d just like to say a few words about Chris at Back to life cars,
I bought a 69 fastback mustang in from the States late last year knowing there were many issues that needing addressing,
Not having much free time myself I decided to put it in the hands of Chris,
Within the first half day of going over the car it soon became apparent that it was going to need a lot of work to make it safe and road worthy following a huge amount of work that had already been carried out in the USA, none being finished off to any sort of acceptable standard,
So Chris started to delve in....
At every stage of works - Chris sent me photos and full description of what was defective and why and how he intended to correct, together with a fair estimate of costs,
I have to say that I never at any point felt uneasy with Chris’s advice, specification and guesstimate of costs,
With the Aston Martin and Classic car background I admired him for a comment he made..’if you’re gonna do it - do it right’
After 3 months in his unit addressing many issues inc engine, suspension, steering, braking, body, interior and electrical works I eagerly set off with my car trailer to bring her back home,
As most of us car nuts are very careful with who we trust to work on our pride and joys I can truly say that I am sticking with Chris at back to life cars from now on.
Thanks so much Chris - top job

Paul Usher 01-08-2018: Met Chris for the first time this week. Seemed a very knowledgeable and professional young man. My 57 Cadillac had a leak on the fuel system. All lines, hoses and clips were replaced. Outstanding work and I'm really happy with the result. Will be back for a few more jobs on the Caddy in the near future!

Mark Brunker 31-08-2018: Found Chris as his workshop is very close to where I work, asked around and he has a good reputation amongst the other garage owners. And glad I did as he did a brilliant job on my Land Rover especially as it not the usual sort of car he works on. Great job! Thanks Chris.

Terry Allen 12-09-2018: Met Chris a few months ago and he has been more than helpful in getting my GMC truck back on the road. He doesnt claim to be something hes not he just gets on with the job with zero fuss and at a reasonable price. Highly recommended is now my first contact if and when i need advice and work done. TOP BLOKE.

Paul Deeks 13-09-2018: After importing my 68 mustang from the states i got in touch with Chris at back to life cars and talked through with him what needed to be done to pass a MOT. The work needed was not intensive but it had to be done to a good standard therefore i was more than pleased at the tidy and meticulous work Chris did on the car. At all stages i was kept informed of all the work done, supported by clear photos of all bits that needed replacing and of when they were in situ. A great hourly rate combined with Chris's enthusiasm made receiving the mustang a pleasure. Will definitely be using back to life cars again in the near future.
Many thanks

Paul Faughnan 29-09-2018: I have a 67 fast back and Chris has completed a lot of jobs for me.
I have found him very helpful and very informative throughout sending me pictures and keeping me up to date with lead times on parts ect..
His work is of a very high standard and I would recommend him with out any reservations
If you use him you will not be disappointed
Thank you

Jamie Johnstone 13-10-2018: Well, what can I say. Thoroughly impressed by Chris's, workmanship, professionalism and attention to detail on my 77 Pontiac and done with a passion that is rare these days.He updated me with pictures and video, through every step of the work performed. For a young guy, he definitely know's what he is doing. I would have no problems recommending him. Don't second guess yourself, here is the guy you want, to work on your pride and joy!

Paul Samouelle 23-11-2018: I found Back to life cars by accident whilst looking at some ads in a classic car mag so I called and spoke to Chris. I was impressed by the fact that he could restore my car exactly the way I wanted and at a speed that I wanted.
My 68 Olds Cutlass was appraised in a short spell and we set to work on ordering the parts we needed. Chris always let me know when additional work was found to be required and believe me when you start stripping down a car there is always things you don't consider. As you can see in the previous projects I had a lot of work done and now the car is 2 months after finishing its amazing how good the car is and I get loads of comments on the workmanship thats been carried out. I would thoughly recommend Chris for any work thats needed, whatever the car. In fact Im looking for the next project for him to tackle.
If anybody want to see whats been done to my car ask Chris to let me know and I will arrange for you to come down and have a chat. Thanks Paul

Zack Armstrong 03-03-2019: Chris changed the head gaskets on my 1967 Chevy El Camino and also fitted and re-wired my chrome alternator. I also had some headers and a few other small bits and pieces done to improve my truck. He did a great job on everything, sent me detailed photos along the way and also kept me updated daily on the progress he made. Very friendly service and a very knowledgeable and helpful guy.

Jon French 15-03-2019: Chris just did some repairs on the steering on my '68 Mustang. Really nice guy who knows what he's talking about. A pleasure to deal with.

Andrew Tisi 24-03-2019: My 1962 Corvette C1 is now firing on all cyclinders and roaring as it should. I would fully recommend Chris for his work. I was kept fully posted at all times during the servicing & upgrades. Many thanks Chris.

Riccardo Godfrey-Bonnici 02-06-2019: Booked my 71 Chevelle in with Chris at Back to Life Cars recently. My car needed a lot of work: a new engine fitted, plus all the parts, a new heater matrix, a new wiper switch, and a rev counter fitted.

Chris did a first class job, sending me regular updates and photos so I could see how my car was coming on.

If you own a yank, and it needs work, repairs or servicing... Chris is the man!

Esther Cowlbeck 16-06-2019: Chris is very knowledgeable and helpful. He's friendly and straight talking and certainly won't rip you off. He's fixed problems on my Triumph GT6 that other mechanics failed to. He takes the time to look at a problem and work out how to solve it. He's a proper mechanic, rather than just a fitter, and there's not too many about any more. I'll be taking it back for more work on it and also my mustang. I can't recommend Back To Life Cars highly enough.

Peter Pitts 05-11-2019: Found Chris to be very professional with good workmanship. Most accommodating with my requirements. Truck now runs like a dream and sounds good as well. Reasonable rates and would highly recommend, kept me informed and updated with progress and pictures. Would definitely use again. Thanks Chris for a job well done. Peter.

Gary Bransgrove 03-03-2020: Chris has done a great job on my Chevy C10.
Very knowledgable and obviously this is more than just a job for him it’s a passion.
He wants to do the best job he can even when you have a restricted budget and keeps you
Informed every step of the way with a daily update.
Would not hesitate to go back with any work I might need in the future.

Peter Cavallo 10-05-2020: I am Peter of Classic American Car sales in Essex. Chris of Back to life cars was a name I had heard several times over the past few years as a good guy to use for mechanical work and I finally gave him a try a few months ago. What the heck I was waiting for is beyond me! This guy is fantastic. His thoroughness and attention to detail is unreal. When my cars arrive at his shop he does a full front to back check through and then lets me know what he feels needs doing. A plan of action is decided upon and parts are ordered and away he goes. He sends you photos of the issue, then of the parts ordered to solve the issue and of the solved issue after the work is done. Another great thing is that he doesn't just do the most expensive method. Several times he solved tricky issues with a great idea and using inexpensive items he was able to obtain locally rather than replace a whole assembly at great cost He has done a fair few of my cars over the past few months and each one came back much better than when it went over. A few had seriously difficult to solve issues and after Chris worked on them they were all sorted. I honestly cannot recommend Back to life enough. More importantly he doesn't shy way from the pain in the bum jobs that many other garages don't want to touch. Chris will be seeing as many of my cars as he can take in

Regards: Peter Cavallo

Mike Bray 23-07-2020: Excellent work done by Chris and his team, prompt service , keeps you informed of progress, recommended.

Ken Baughan 27-09-2020: Chris and the team managed to sort out my 78' Trans Am with a little sprinkle of Edelbrock & The Right Stuff Magic. The guys fitted a new AVS 2 carb, a Right Stuff rear disc conversion, and lots of little jobs that take up so much time. The result is a car that starts better, definitely, runs better, and now has the brakes to curb the excess levels of right-foot enthusiasm a 6.6L V8 lures you into. Next stop, a 700R4 gearbox conversion.

Gary Clayton 02-01-2021: Chris fully rebuilt my Ford 289 V8 engine and the detailing that was applied to it was like it had been put together as if it was his engine, looks brilliant.

Ian Hyde 06-01-2021: No hesitation in recommending Chris and the team at Back to Life Cars. Very thorough, extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Made my 67 Mustang a great driver thanks. Always happy to answer questions and share information. You need to be able to trust the people working on your pride and joy and that is why I recommend them.

Ben Corp 14-02-2021: Chris and his team did an epic job putting my ‘56 Chevy back together properly after the horrifying efforts of the previous owner. Chris’ communication is outstanding, he kept me regularly updated with catalogs of photos of the progress, and consulted me on issues when appropriate and most importantly when we needed to deviate from the original plan. Chris has a really strong attention to detail, and an abundance of enthusiasm for his work, which gave me confidence that I would get back an awesome car, and I did. I would thoroughly recommend Back To Life Cars!

James Rippe 23-03-2021: Chris and the team did a smashing job getting my 1966 Ford Fairlane GTA looking, sounding and driving spot on.

Their attention to detail, extensive knowledge of American muscle and willingness to fabricate and build solutions for cars built decades ago is what makes Back to Life Cars the workshop that customers are willing to wait months for just to get a slot.

Michael Gillett 08-04-2021: Very professional and knowledgeable, perfect job tidying up the little bits my '81 Mustang needed to get it running and stopping well again! Highly recommended.

Gary Kilbey 27-04-2021: I would like to thank chris & his team for transforming my 1986 GT Fox mustang from a unreliable MOT failure & difficult to drive car into a now reliable MOT’d enjoyable “drivers” car 🤠 with aluminium engine upgrades!!! Bring on the sunshine!!! Thanks again chris 🤩

Chris Read 29-05-2021: Been to back to Life Cars for a couple of jobs so far. The work is superb! Super friendly team with an excellent work ethic and enthusiasm.

Will recommend to anyone. If your vehicle has to stay for a long period rest assured the site is very safe in a gated area with alarms and cctv.

You even get a sticker for your car at the end of your visit!

Michael De Souza 19-06-2021: Would just like to say a massive thank you to Chris, Terry, Zac, Matt & Richard, these guys were absolutely ace, they have truly transformed my 1937 Ford Eight Y ….to the next level …

Grant Halsey 06-07-2021: had a full tubular suspension set up supplied and fitted by the guys at Back to life cars... along with new high gear steering box, Wilwood front disc brake set up and a hydraulic clutch upgrade from the old mechanical original equipment.....what a transformation, totally different car to drive.
More work to be done as parts arrive from the US.....great guy's to do business with, would highly recommend if you're looking for a shop to take care of your pride and joy.....this is it.

Steve Hunt 08-08-2021: Had a new carburetor fitted to my 1966 C10, along with new set of plugs, distributor, timing, fuel tank drained and new parking break cable. Fantastic job, it runs smoothly and is using a lot less fuel. Great service, would highly recommend.

Steve Wilson 09-09-2021: Well the football may not be coming home, but my 68 Mustang has!
Massive thank you to Chris and the team at Back to life cars, pretty much every last job now completed, which, with my basic knowledge, couldn’t complete myself, including:

Complete new wiring loom,
Dakota dash
New power steering pump and hoses,
New brakes (rear)
New servo
New Koni shocks
New prop yoke & UJ’s
Additional gauges fitted
Pedal box rebuilt
It has a 351 sump, racing cross member fitted
Reversing lamps & switch
And a few more jobs, list was endless!

Bloody snug fit in the garage though!!!!

Ben Fitch 27-09-2021: Fantastic crew here, went in to have my u joints replaced and diff oil changed. very happy with their work and would not hesitate to go back.

Mick Robinson 12-03-2022: What can i say, Chris and his boys they just go that extra mile doing those little detail things others seem to miss ! plus he is an extremely nice chap always keeping you informed about whats happening ! 5 stars from me!😁

Simon Greenleaf 12-04-2022: I’ve just completed the first 400 miles in this 1965 GT Fastback. It’s incredible thanks too all the hard work that Chris and his team of mechanical custom car building fabricating petrolheads put in to the project ! :-)

They had this car for 11 months. They replaced everything apart from the body panels in a high spec build that included: 331 crate engine; Currie 9” LSD rear end; Tremec 5 speed box; Hotchkis performance suspension and steering; bespoke full FIA race cage; Curbeau seating and harnesses; GT350R gauges… the list goes on and on. Every nut and bolt and fitting. It’s a brand new, old school hot rod inside a 1965 tatty shell. The perfect sleeper.

I’ve been so impressed with the craftsmanship too. Welds that disappear.. hand crafted (bent over the knee) fitted panels … hand made hardware.

The car is so good I feel bad taking it away from the team that built it … on the other hand, it is so much driving it I’ll just have to put up with feeling guilty !!!

Seriously, these guys really know what they are doing. Outstanding work. Very good value for money. Straight and honest advice.

I’ve already booked for another project.

Thanks guys…
